Removing Masonry Paint from Terracotta Chimney Pots

Thanks again for all the suggestions above. I tried a pressure washer, with a wire brush on the really stubborn bits of paint, and that cleaned the chimney pots up a treat although it did take a little time. Thanks again for the suggestion. It was quite odd - at first the pressure washer didn’t...

Removing Masonry Paint from Terracotta Chimney Pots

Not really woodworking I know, but I have just bought a couple of what were originally beige coloured terracotta chimney pots that have been painted with red masonry paint at some point in recent time. Unfortunately the other existing chimney pots on the house that I need to match are beige in...

    Kity bestcombi

I previously had a K5 and now have a Bestcombi 2000 which is far more capable. As a hobbyist I find the Bestcombi 2000 brilliant, providing quite a bit of capacity whist still being easy to roll out of the way in the garage when not in use. In terms of spares, I’ve not had too many issues...

    Kity Combi

Here’s a link to the instructions that I previously received, and was really grateful for, from Racers. https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/kity-bestcombi-2000-capacitor-issue.104798/post-1141820

    Kity Combi

I also had issues with the capacitor in my Bestcombi 2000. It started buzzing and wouldn’t turn the machine over when I went to start it. I posted about this on the forum and somebody messaged me with the most amazing step by step instructions which made it a doddle to fix with the replacement...

    Bestcombi2000

Thanks for the update Gary and sorry to hear that the machine is not up and running yet. I‘ve appreciated your posts on here - information on Bestcombi‘s can sometimes be a little hard to come by and therefore any additional information is always useful. Thanks again David

    Bestcombi2000

I’m afraid that I’m not sure how to strip down the machine so that the feed rollers can definitely be removed for inspection, but I do know that you can remove the whole thicknesser unit for further strip down by disconnecting the drive belt and undoing what I recollect was the 6 bolts that you...

    Bestcombi 2000

The engagement lever on mine needs to be lifted and then pushed towards /pulled away from the centre of the machine to engage the feed roller - just a thought incase you have just been lifting the lever. in terms of the belt itself, from memory I think you can check it’s condition and adjust it...

    Kity Bestcombi 2000

Not at all. I’m pretty sure that it is only about a third to a quarter of a rotation that they turn on mine.

    Kity Bestcombi 2000

I’m afraid I don’t know. I’ve not had issues with my Bestcombi 2000 although I did discover that wood chips cleared up behind them which I needed to clear. The other issue that I had was the feeder roller tended to clock with wood but that seems to have been less of an issue since I adjusted the...

    Kity slot mortiser; bits for

I have a bestcombi 2000 and the bits for that are left hand (i.e. the opposite way to a standard drill bit) with a 10mm shaft (any bigger diameter bits have a step in the shaft to take them down to 10mm) if that’s any use?
