    Upside down doors

Carpenter or handyman? I'm struggling to see how a carpenter, to which this should be bread and butter Work, could make this mistake!

What is the best Emulsion paint ?

Used both Crown Clean Extreme and McPherson Durable Matt and find them both easy to apply and long lasting. My own house is Clean Extreme throughout and it's great being able to wipe the walls down.

Removing intumescent paint from a fire door

Are you sure it's intumescent paint, as a fire door will get its rating from its construction and not its coating? Are you repainting it? If so, there is no need to strip it. Sand to key the coating then apply the new system. If you're staining it, it's a going to be a messy job. If heats not...

    Eurolock cylinders

Unless a security cowling is used, it provides an opening through which a "tool" can be used to manipulate the lock if a key is left in or thumbturn is used. I've anti-snap locks, don't use thumbturns, or leave keys in locks, and don't have a letterbox. That's about as safe as I can make my...

New Electric to Garage Workshop Quote

Sounds a fair price. I recently paid £1800 for new cable and consumer unit in the workshop, separated from the house. 12 double sockets, 2 x 16amp sockets, 3 LED lights and 2 external lights. Took 2 days with 2 guys. I was happy with that.

    Table Saw Choices

I've a 16amp supply so it's not an issue. I had an axminster 10" saw a few years ago that was 16amp (before I upgraded the electrics) and ran it off a 13amp supply using the connector above. Never missed a beat.

    Table Saw Choices

Same machine as the SIP. Cast Iron table extensions. I went for the wheel kit to move it around. No issues so far, and it's coped with everything I've thrown at it. There's a few videos on YouTube (SIP/ iTECH).

    Table Saw Choices

Also take a look at the offerings from iTECH. I had the LumberJack but returned it due to issues, and purchased the 01332 from iTECH. Its a great saw.

    Preservative recommendations

I've used the sadolin wood preserver on numerous projects and never had a problem with it. Used both the water based and solvent, and prefer the latter as it seems to penetrate better

    01332 16amp cable length

Thanks for the replies. The saw will be going in a central position with a couple of tables behind it to act as outfeed and assembly. My thinking was to erect a timber column behind the tables and drop a 16amp and a few 13amp sockets onto it, removing the need to trail cables from the...

    01332 16amp cable length

Morning all. Can anyone with the iTech/SIP 01332 please advise the length of cable supplied with the saw. I've an electrician coming around tomorrow to quote on installing a 16amp supply, and need to determine where to place the outlets. Anyone installed a column in the middle of the work area...

What is the correct paint for kitchen ceiling?

Fair comment. Never had it happen to me, but I wouldn't be cleaning the ceiling if that did happen....I'd be hiding from the other half 😆

What is the correct paint for kitchen ceiling?

Unless you're throwing grease, food, liquids onto the ceiling, then a standard Matt finish would be suffice. If you can stretch a little further, then a durable matt. Ask yourself.....when was the last time you wiped your kitchen ceiling? This assumes you've an extractor fitted and steam isn't...

    SIP 01332 or iTECH 01332

Thanks for the feedback. Does it take the same wheel kit as the SIP (jockey wheel etc.)?

    SIP 01332 or iTECH 01332

Nope, just the saw. No mention of the sliding table. The SIP was in my crosshairs until I came across the iTECH and read the reviews. To me, it doesn't make sense spending the extra on the SIP - unless I'm missing something?
