Yeah it's been a series of negligent events by the hotel. I contacted the local environmental health officer, whose been down to the site, but no lawyers yet. Waiting to see if asbestos is confirmed first.
Update: it’s been a long 48 hours. The hotel manager rang me yesterday and said the door is recorded as being an aib. They’re taking it seriously. They filled the door in (not sure with what) and have tested the air in the room (<48 hrs since last disturbance). No presence of asbestos in the air...
Good idea, I'll ask if it's registered as a known asbestos. As @baldkev said, they've repaired / painted over in the past, so hopefully the health and safety team / maintenance people know.

Thanks, I feared it might be an asbestos insulating board. The hotel manager is due to email me back today, so will hopefully get a good response. If not, will take it above his head as you suggest. Thanks.
I was at an old hotel this week and this was the inside of the room door. Looks like someone opened it into a table causing the hole, but not sure what the exposed panel is. I told the hotel, but they didn't seem concerned by it. Google searches comes up with a couple of possibilities, but I'm...
I’m in a similar position. I was staying at an old hotel this week and the room door was damaged exposing a white sheet inside that looks like the one you mention. I’ll try to post a pic and would be interested in what anyone thinks as others will be staying in this room ( which also has an air...
