It has actually hardened now so it's fine to walk on. As mentioned the issue is it will scratch easily due to the thicker layer of wax on top. As this has now hardened but I want to remove some could it just be buffed down in order the remove the top layer?

Yeah I've had a heater and a fan in the room to blow warm air around. It does seem to have hardened up across most of it now. Not sure if I can just use a buffing pad to remove excess.

Noted for next time, thanks. Got the living room to do next. Not parquet this time thankfully. It does seem to have hardened up a bit now. But you can tell it thick on top of the wood and will scratch easy. Will white spirit still work once hardened or could it be buffed instead?

So doing this will just take the excess off and shouldn't need refinishing?

Just finished installing some parquet flooring in my hall. Sanded and oiled it. It looks great but it's been about 20 hours since the second coat and it's still quite tacky. Unsure what to do next. Any help and advice appreciated.

Yeah this spring is far long than mine. Definitely the reason for the snapped pin. Let me know the bearing change goes. I think I will plan to do mine eventually as you can feel the odd notch when turning by hand. Still runs pretty smooth at the minute though.

Drillled the old pin out and tapped the hole m4. Reformed the spring with the help of a blow torch and some plyers. Like I say though I think I need to replace the spring as it doesn't seem to have the travel.

OK, this might be the case as I've seen a few examples which are similar but not an exact match. Thanks, I've fixed the pin and reformed the spring but it still jams up before hitting the stop. Think it may be the incorrect spring, will have to replace it. I've gave it a quick clean up. Lubed...

Yes, I noticed that makes me think the drill has been fitted to a different base. They are can't imagine anything from machine mart still being around in 80 years. It's the pin which the spiral spring hooks onto has bent and eventually snapped. It will require drilling out and replacing. Also...

Thanks for the info. That certainly looks to match my drill, other than the branded base but I assume that is the difference between the floor and the bench model. Yeah it's in lovely condition, needs a good clean a bit of lube and the return spring needs fixing but other than that it's a tank...
