    Router: simple or plunge type?

Edge routing with a fixed base 1/4" router is so much easier than using a plunge as it's smaller, lighter and able to be used easily one handed, apart from that I agree! I have a Makita 1/2" fixed base and I can't really fathom out what it it's for but it only cost me a tenner...

    Erbauer plunge saw track

Triton or Titan? Titan, Erbauer, Scheppach, Makita and Festool are all intercompatible, Makita rails are best for the Titan saw as they allow it to lock in when set at angles.

    Erbauer plunge saw track

Makita and Festool tracks are both compatible, I got myself a bag to protect them and 2x rail joiners to ensure it all stays together happily

    Reducing tearout on mitre saw.

The standard blades aren't very good, a 25.4 to 30mm bush from woodford tools will allow you to run a proper blade. Look for something like a Freud 216mm (it fits) which will cut beautifully and isn't too pricey in that size. I fitted a Freud to mine and it totally transformed its cutting...

    Lidl Japanese Saw

I couldn't get on with my Lidl saw, it just feels really wrong and I found it hard to get started. I have the Irwin pull saw from Screwfix and that is absolutely lovely to use, very happy with it!

Adding a pressure switch to a compressor

I have an endoscope so perhaps I will just open up one of the side outlets and have a peek inside before writing off both of my tanks. Thanks for the idea!

Adding a pressure switch to a compressor

Hi chaps, Thank you very much for all your help, it has been quite a learning curve. It looks like from the general feedback that I should scrap it as I cannot verify how well it has been looked after so I'll take the motor off and put it on the heap, I'm very gutted as I can't afford another...

Adding a pressure switch to a compressor

I've not had it under any significant pressure yet as I'm nervous to test it until I'm sure of the pressure relief valve working so I can't comment on starting under pressure. The small blue pipe goes to what seems to be a pressure release valve but for some reason there is a handle welded to it

Adding a pressure switch to a compressor

Hi dzj, thanks for your help. I've just searched unloader valves and I can't identify anything that looks like any parts on my machine, does that mean I want one that doesn't connect there?

Adding a pressure switch to a compressor

I acquired a compressor with a duff motor last year and have only just had a chance to take a peek at it. After replacing the motor with a spare it pumps a treat but there is a important component missing... the pressure switch! I have whacked on a regulator and it all works fine but I daren't...

Affordable Quality Alternative To The Festool Plunge Saw

I have the Titan and it really is incredible value for money. I bought a Freud blade and 2x Makita 1400mm rails and it is spot on. The original blade is pretty good but the Freud makes it super clean cutting.

Lidl Delta Sander - anyone bought one?

I have one and it is very good. I had a rather nice Bosch one that was stolen and this replaced it as a cheap get me by but actually it's better than the Bosch and so far been very reliable, the dust extraction is good too

Seeking Claas agricultural paint light green for WW machines

Go to an agricultural engineers and they will be able to supply the paint. I have been using VAP stuff for years and it's great, comes in plenty of tractor colours. I pay £12 per litre, usually mix it 2/3 paint, 1/3 thinners.

Converting a pig shed into something useful+ various bodges

It's been a while since I updated! I have done a few little jobs though and it's becoming more and more of a useable space. I was fed up with having a fairly good tablesaw but on a silly little base that felt like it would tip over and also not having anywhere for outfeed as I regulalrly rip...
