    Not sure I should admit this. But, years ago, on my first ever DIY kitchen refit. I layed the worktop on my workmate, measured and marked the sink cutout and started to cut it out. I only realised that the only supported piece was the cutout when the whole thing broke and crashed around my feet...

    Thanks everyone. Studwork and lining all in. The lining squared up nicely (I hope ;). Just need to hang the doors. All the tips and advice on here was most helpful. Gave me the confidence tgo get on and do it. I'l post back once the doors are in.

    SDS drill terminology . . and a view on a model

    Like you I needed drill into a lintel. I ended up buying the Makita HR2630. Thinking I could sell it on afterwards. Decided to keep it and have used it to drill lintels, cut outs for patress boxes and cable runs. All handled with ease. Wish I'd bought one years ago.

    Now it's starting to make more sense to me :). The jamb I have, which came with the doors, is 30mm (1 and 3/16inches) so quite a bit deeper. So I'll just need to adjust my figures to account for the difference and that should give me a much better wiggle room. Thanks for all your advice and...

    Lefley, Your suggestion of 62.5 inches isn't wide enough even without any wiggle room. 1524+10+60 = 1594mm. Appologies for the questions but I want to make sure I get this right before I start putting the studwork up so I only have to do it once. Should I add 2.5 inches to my tight measurements...
