Yep pretty much. I started with the main faces sanding them but when I got to the juice groove I couldnt be bothered to fight a bit of paper rapped round a dowel so recut them with a router along with the grooves on the edge.
2 very different jobs for me
First is a Cutting board that I've been eyeing up in the girlfriends parents house for a while that was in desperate need of some love. Hard to believe the 2 pictures are the same board. Its 30 years old and looks like its spent most of that time in a...
I have a dado stack but being lazy I've never got round to getting or making a zero clearance insert for it. When I need to make grooves I just use one of the outer blades from it as its got a flat grind.
I know the feeling. I have birthday on the 12th, V day on the 14th and Anniversary on the 19th. On the other hand though it does mean I dont need to remember any dates as I get warnings from both my mum and her mum about her birthday and then I know I have the other 2 to deal with also! Lol
Cool.
I knew I always wanted the BoB cladding but wanted Western red Cider originally. Only trouble was I built the shed at the absolute peak of timber prices and it was over £100 a metre for the stuff! I didnt have a cat in hells chance of getting £2500 of cladding past the Girlfriend so...
Correct in the first option. Fully made the wall panels on the ground and just stood them both up. the 4.5m one was pretty heavy by myself!!
Anyway enough about my shed this is about yours. Apologies for the thread hijack.
140mm wide boards on first with 70mm wide boards on top. 20mm thick.
This shows it a bit better. All coated on all sides before installation with Osmo Poly X Larch colour which greys it ever so slightly
Okay looking back I missed the bit about you paying labour costs so when you compare them there isnt a huge difference between mine and yours.
Some obvious things that jump out at me though. that haven't been mentioned I dont think.
4x2 frame? Why not 3x2? Saves money and gains you space...
Thanks
Also for the record if you buy your Cladding from UK Timber LTD like I did you end up with way more than you plan on! I measured the size I needed, ordered it plus 10% and which worked out at about 20m2 and then ended up barely using half of it!
I'll admit that I spaced the overlaps a...
I've got to say I think youre spending alot of money on that shed considering the size!
I built mine at the back end of last year and I reckon I got change from about 5k. its 4.4m x 2.9m
3x2 studwork frame on a 4'' reinforced concrete base sitting on 3 rows of engineering bricks.
GRP roof...
Personally I used the Replaceable blades version as I mainly work with plywood and its murder on blades! plus I can keep a pack of blades in the draw and if it starts to dull I dont have to worry about making the bit last, I can just chuck in a new set and be back working in no time at all...
This one doesnt and if youre using it on a router table the bearings at the correct end.

I use the one I recommended in both a table and handheld so need the bearings at both ends.
I've got to wonder if the difference...
Spiral bits are generally better over straight bits however can I add another option to the list especially if you're doing batch work and likely to got through a few of them
