Types of MDF for bookcases and kitchen cabinets

Surprised noone has mentioned CaberMDF Pro MR, I have used it for a small project (router table) but machines well and easily worked with hand tools too. Bit pricey but I've found most sheet materials are these days. Best source seems to be Selco if you have an account (I don't but wish I did...

Using foil-backed Insulation Board as sacrificial board while cutting Plywood

I use this with some appropriately sized timber, has been great for several projects now. https://www.axminstertools.com/veritas-panel-platform-kit-105157?queryID=898f5068009ccdd658205fbc532d532f I suspect each of the saddles could be substituted for a pair of angle brackets on the fly/cheap...

    Coronet wood lathe

I've got a blue CL3 dating back to early 90's. Spindle nose is 3/4"x16tpi as mentioned previously, but best to check your own lathe before buying anything! Headstock and tailstock are both 1MT.

    Auto master/slave switch

I bought the same BOGOF SMJ master-slave switch from ebay and have found it excellent in my workshop. I use it to turn on my dust extraction (a Wellco CV100 1kW ash vacuum hooked up to a Dust Commander on a 30L steel drum) and it works great with my bandsaw (Charnwood B350 1.1kW), thicknesser...

    Spindle turning jitter

I see this phenomenon occassionally and it was only yesterday I was re-reading through Mike Darlow's Fundamentals of Woodturning and found an explanation. I don't know if its the same issue you observe, but I've attached a picture of the relevant pages. My first thought was sharpness, but I...

Triton Planer thicknesser TPT125 - Cam Locks ?

I'm not had chance to look at it further but I did find this whilst searching: https://stusshed.wordpress.com/2007/08/16/103/ This guy makes reference to the cutterhead lock around 8:20, and then engages it (its the red lever on the RHS near the threaded column). I'm fairly certain after seeing...

Triton Planer thicknesser TPT125 - Cam Locks ?

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have seen the same thing in the manual and theres a part in the schematic (22) which is a "cutterhead lock plate". I have just bought one of these machines and I can not see any signs of this part being present. I may have to strip it down when I get it...
