    Table saw

My saw update so far. As I was sorting out my shed I found 3 more blades from an old saw I had 20 plus years ago, they did have a bit of rust on them but look like new, I cleaned then up and all 3 fit, I changed the blade to a 40 teeth hoping for a finer cut. Removed the riving knife set to with...

    Cheap Metal garden sheds.

You are right about the condensation, I have put in a window at the side that I leave open a jar and I put an old tea tail across any electric parts, this seems to work. I think your idea to line the inside would be good.

    Table saw

I am looking forward to making and using my Sled and as I'm getting a bit old in the tooth (72 this year) don't wont to loose any pinkies. I will remove the plastic blade guard but incorporate in to the Sled a guard of some sort. Riving knife, is that for kick backs ?. I will get my mate Eddie...

    Cheap Metal garden sheds.

About 15 years ago I brought a 10x8 metal shed with double sliding doors, it was delivered from Dublin to Hampshire, it said will be delivered in 48 days, I started concreting the base and after 3 days it arrived, it was flat packed. I put it together on my own but the roof I made in one section...

I have just brought a cheep second hand table saw and my first project is to make a sled. I started looking on utube for idea's and I am confused, not with the sled building but most video's the saws had no blade protectors. My cheep o saw has a clear plastic one, it dose seem a bit flimsy...

    Paint undercoat

I have just finished replacing my lean-to roof but my next job will be to paint the inside, I have used OBS2 boards and have brought a big tin of Dulux gloss white. Do I need to use an under coat or will I get away with say a couple of top coats of gloss. This is for the inside of roof.

    Smole detectors

In the light of tumble dryers in the news I have taken down one of my smoke detectors (battery operated) from the lounge and put it on a shelf just above the tumble dryer (White night) just in case. We have 5 detectors. What I would like to know is, can I lay the detector on the shelf flat or...

    Lean-to Roof

I was thinking T & G as it would look good from inside, if I do not use wood glue but use a sealant just to help to make it more water resistant ? As for OSB3, I would struggle with the size as I'm over 70, but think I can manage the T & G boards with a little help from my wife.

    Lean-to Roof

I will be starting on my lean-to roof soon and would like any comments on the way I will tackle it. First job will be to take off the old roof as it leeks badly. I am going to fix new rafters running from the house wall down to the garden. The lean-to is 3 meters wide and 3.5 meters long. On the...

    Decking in side.

I have a lean-to that is getting on in years but still usable, The floor needed re-doing so I used decking, this has made it solid but it has the odd leak from the roof that I will replace in the spring. My question is I like the look of the decking and was going to sand it down a little then...

    Roofing felt

Across the street from me a builder man has built a large wooden frame, you could put a car in it, but he seems to have covered it in some kind of felt. It came on a large role about 12 feet wide, on the inside it was white and the out side was green with square lines in white, it was about the...
