    Bought another geetar!!

I'm primarily a bass player and I once had as many as 12 x basses, 2 x electric guitars, 1 x 12-string acoustic, 1 x 6-string acoustic, and 2 x mandolins at one time. Nowadays, and much to my wife's delight, I'm down to just 4 basses, 2 x electric guitars, and 1 x mandolin, although I still get...

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

I have Coeliac Disease and my wife uses xanthan gum in gluten-free baking, perhaps I should try it ;) Xanthan gum is used to improve the texture and shelf life of gluten-free products.

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

Just tried hand sanitiser and Lynx without success, the writing is so deep into the tolex that I'm afraid that anything strong enough to remove it would probably damage the tolex.

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

That's what I'm thinking, a nice brass plate or printed sticker would cover it and look great on the case.

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

The cases for both models are exactly the same, but the model name that is written on this case is incorrect for my bass

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

The reason I want it removed is because I purchased a Lakland USA 44-51 Custom bass but the original case got damaged, so I managed to pick this case up second-hand but it was for a Lakland USA Bob Glaub.

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

I've now tried white spirit, meths, and nail polish remover, and none of them are getting anywhere close to removing it. I guess I will have to come up with something to cover it instead. :(

Thanks Yojevol, I might give that a try

Advice on how to remove "sharpie" writing on a guitar case please?

I've just purchased a beautiful second-hand bass, but the previous owner wrote the name of the bass on masking tape which he stuck to the case, unfortunately, the case is a light creamy colour and the sharpie has gone through the masking tape, I've tried white spirit but it hasn't done much...

    Worktop Material?

Thanks for all your advice folks, it's much appreciated. I think I will go the kitchen worktop route, because with the new insulated doors and window, the garage should be dry enough to not cause any problems with damp, and I usually go well over the top when it comes to supporting things, so I...

    Worktop Material?

I want to fit a worktop in my garage which has just been fitted with a brand new main door, side door, and window, which are all insulated. My question is, would a solid oak kitchen worktop be ok, or could I even use a laminated kitchen worktop if the garage is reasonably insulated, its not...

    Suitable Table for Trend T7EK

I have been looking on eBay and local Facebook sales etc, but nothing has caught my eye yet, and because the Trend T7 doesn't fit their own Trend CRT/MK3 Craft Pro table, I'm a bit hesitant to purchase anything without knowing for sure that it will compatible with the T7. Just to clarify, I...

    Suitable Table for Trend T7EK

I've just purchased a Trend T7EK router and was intending to get the Trend CRT/MK3 Craft Pro table to go with it, but I've just read that the T7 won't fit without drilling extra holes in the table's mounting plate to accept fixing holes in the T7's base, but the T7 also has a trigger switch...
