    100mm Tool to 35mm Vac

My Bandsaw (Axminster SBW3501B) has a 100mm dust port at the bottom on the back. I've used it with various vacs over the years and it has worked fine but a re-arranging of the workshop will necessitate a permanent change to a small vac with a 35mm hose connector. Obviously I will have to step...

    Glue for outside project

I noticed this when I received it, as you say Steve, already about 5 weeks old before I got it, so not really impressed with that aspect. It will do for this job but it is a lesson learned - only buy what you can use in say 3-5 months. regards Brian

    Glue for outside project

I have some Titebond and Everbuild on order. The Everbuild is significantly cheaper than the Titebond so I will find out if it lives up to its claims. thanks for all the input. regards Brian

    Glue for outside project

Okay thanks. I didn't know about that brand which sounds like it would be equivalent to Titebond 3 but with the added advantage of drying clear. What about epoxy? Has anyone used epoxy on such a project? regards Brian

    Glue for outside project

What would you say in the best glue between Titebond 3 or epoxy for gluing these scrollsaw cutouts, they will be outside permanently (they are for a bird feeder)? I don't want to use polyurethane glue beacuse the foaming would be a nightmare to clean up. Thanks in advance & regards Brian

    Wood Identification

Thank you for the replies, I think the most likely is probably apple, pretty sure it isn’t silver birch. regards Brian

    Wood Identification

Does anyone have any idea what wood this is please? It's been knocking around my yard for a few years and I decided to cut it this morning. It has a beautiful yellow inside. Thanks & regards Brian

    Boosting weak mobile telephone signal

I know this is a little off the mark re the OP's question but somewhat relevant I believe. My bank (Halifax) have told me that in the near future they will introduce One Time Passcodes whenever the card is used. I can see a problem when using a card in a rural area if this is put into action. Or...

    Bandsaw tyres needed

Have you tried asking Axminster. I would be very surprised if they can't supply tyres

    Rutlands Rant....

I've had enough of this and am going to turn off notifications for this post and I suggest those that don't like it do the same. Brian

    Rutlands Rant....

What I wanted was to talk to them to ask if I could buy some extra clamps. If I could have rang them they would have got the order without me shopping around which I did mainly out of frustration. As for wanting to ruin a firms reputation, I think Rutland are already doing a pretty decent job of...

    Rutlands Rant....

Well I replied to their email and told them that because of this they have lost a customer. It'll be interesting to see if I get any sort of reply to that. regards Brian
