I generally shop around best prices I've found are ToolNation in the Netherlands, Sauter Shop in Germany. With a bit of patience I've picked up a few items for decent prices.
Well now, I've got both and find it faster and more satisfying to cut them by hand. They each (Leigh jig and the woodrat) have their own fiddly bits and idiosyncrasies along with learning curves to match. Either will do the job...
I've got a maxi from 1999-2000 era still fully functional. The small knob on mine allows for the adjustment of the infeed table depth for the joiner and the wheel adjusts the thicknesser. I've a manual somewhere I'll try and dig out .
I'd purchase a medium to small sized can as when opened the wax oils will develop skin layers. As most of the wax oils are expensive you'd want to lose as little as possible.
