What can I do with a large oak log?

You could plank them, make a few bowl blanks or even zillions of pen blanks!

    Festool Retailer

I generally shop around best prices I've found are ToolNation in the Netherlands, Sauter Shop in Germany. With a bit of patience I've picked up a few items for decent prices.

    OSB Outdoors

If you want to use osb make sure it's osb3 which will swell when wet but return to its original size as it dries.

    Woodrat or Leigh Dovetail jig?

Well now, I've got both and find it faster and more satisfying to cut them by hand. They each (Leigh jig and the woodrat) have their own fiddly bits and idiosyncrasies along with learning curves to match. Either will do the job...

Air source Heat Pumps any good?

if you have a passive NZEB house then maybe they make sense, if not then the upgrade to that level would be your 1st priority.

Should I use Building Fabric Behind Larch Weatherboarding?

It really depends on how long you want it to last. Breather membrane will help protect the osb from water damage.

The ghost of the Maxi 26

I've got a maxi from 1999-2000 era still fully functional. The small knob on mine allows for the adjustment of the infeed table depth for the joiner and the wheel adjusts the thicknesser. I've a manual somewhere I'll try and dig out .

    Work Bench Tough Finish Recommendations

Spray on a coat or 2 of sanding sealer. All you really want is to stop it from staining easily and to be able to scrape off any glue with ease.

Finish for coasters and pot stands

I'd purchase a medium to small sized can as when opened the wax oils will develop skin layers. As most of the wax oils are expensive you'd want to lose as little as possible.
