    Project Plans

I saw this linked the other day - Free Woodworking Plans, Projects and Patterns - WoodworkersWorkshop Disclaimer: I only bookmarked it so far and haven't actually used it, so unsure of it's quality. I currently have enough things to finish without starting another

    Electric vehicles - again

As a BEV owner, this was a very good post summarising one of the biggest issues with EV ownership (with current ranges). Although the rapid charge points are generally getting better at just being contactless now, with fewer requiring subscription. When we first switched we had to change our...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

I forgot to say thank you after I caught up with all the replies. I found it very interesting to see the differing views, I think I have a tendency to persecute myself for not 'doing it right' so it was a good insight to see the various views. This nugget was particularly helpful, it was so...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

I think that's where my woodwork skills are left lacking 😁 This is genius, I was unclamping the piece I was working on everytime! This sounds much easier, thanks. No, it'll be cut down to ~2.4m for the top. I figured it was better to do the joining beforehand and make the cross cut last...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

haha 🙂, yea, sorry for the confusing photo, but I'm quietly very pleased with myself that it appeared as one board! Photos can be deceiving 😁 Thanks, are there any downsides to doing it this way? For example, I wondered if that because the last join of 3 to 2 would be ~25cm to ~35cm, then both...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

Thanks Fitzroy, I also wondered about cumulating the errors rather than averaging them out with one glu-up. I do have a biscuit jointer so will definitely be using that. It's a very very basic desk, one top and two sides, made from strips of oak glued up. It started over a year ago so you...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

It's a table (office desk) top, so joining five boards together. The photo was just the first edge that I had started/done (depending on how much more patience I have with it), and to check quickly how it looked when clamped together. I like to take a photo before I start edging, and another at...

Novice question for edge gluing boards

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have 5 boards (300cm x 11cm x 3cm) that I would like to join. While I've done an ok job of planing the edges, my jointing skills are somewhat lacking and my patience lacking even more, so I was wondering if there was a good reason for not edge gluing...

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

Thanks for all the advice, exactly what I needed. (y) I took more photos of the tooling at the weekend so I'll chuck it all on eBay and hope for the best. I live a couple of hundred miles away from Mum's house so think I'll list it all as one job lot collection to save the trouble of individual...

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

I was thinking about posting on the for sale section here but I dont have enough posts due to the lurking nature of my relationship with the forum

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

Thanks! useful to know, pricing seems to be aligning in the low hundreds range which is much better than the no idea I had a few hours ago (y)

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

Owning something that you couldn't use and not finishing a job you started, you must have known my dad! ;) or maybe that's just a general trait of DIYers :) This is golddust information, thank you. Exactly the kind of knowledge I was hoping to get to ensure I don't try to sell it at some...

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

Thanks, I did have a look for a replacement, but couldn't find a manual or details on the motor. Having said that, I did just find another thread on here with the same morticer and details on their moto so I'll try to use that to gauge a price. Thanks, useful to know about the tooling and...

    Help valuing Multico M3 Morticer

Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, after some intensive googling I've not got anywhere, so I'm hopeful that the breadth of expertise here might be of some help. We're clearing my late fathers' garage and stored in the corner for many years has been a Multico M3 moticer. Unfortunately...

    Dust / Chip Extraction

I'm far from an expert, but I would think it would be better* with the cyclone inlet in-line with the pipe runs to your machines. The more bends you put, the less efficient the whole setup will be. *that's always relative, so it might not be worth the effort. I would just try some dust...
