    What’s this planes task?

I believe that Morgan Cars are still built with the bodies on ash frames, in Malvern, on the English border with Wales. Be interesting to know whether they still use coach-builders tools.

    Scraper Planes

I have used this Bill Carter idea on a couple of old chisels and been happy with the results. Some years' ago, there was a UTube video from the Australian plane makers, showing them using a thin blade to finish the difficult Australian timbers they used for their planes. I have re-purposed a...

    Postal problems to France

Thanks Dave for your suggestion. My daughter who lives in France has given me some idea of the French bureaucracy in all parts of government systems. I am a little pessimistic that I would receive a useful answer, but, having said that, our local post office, is not very informative.

    Postal problems to France

    Herring LONDON

I bought a number of cut and uncut new/old plane blades from GM Tools, stamped "J.Herring and Sons", and all with a fish stamp over the name. The stamping generally seems to be of a better quality than most. The ones I have used have been excellent.

    Granite surface plate/flattening/where to buy?

I bought a granite floor tile from the local tile warehouse, 24"x 12" some year's ago. Checked it with a Moore and Wright straight edge, all fine. Think it cost under £20.
