how good are Axminster rider block planes

Hi Guys I'm looking to purchase a new block plane, and I wondered if anyone has any experience of the Rider range, as they seem to get mixed reviews. I'm thinking of the 69 1/2 (best of both worlds). or can anyone suggest a mid priced alternative. Many Thanks
