Very impressed, I like both the design and finish. How did you go about getting the two narrow light coloured rims and the black rim ! John

    Watch out Wedgwood

Absolutely exquisite. As a dabbler boith in woodturning and prography, I am just stunned by the skills it took to produce. If I was able to Turn such a perfect item, I would then be afraid of burning it in case I made a mess of it. Well done to both of you.

    Chess set

Absolutely fantastic. You have duel skills of both Woodturning and carving. Do you consider yourself more of a Turner than Carver or the other way round. Carving I would say, being so slow, needs much more patience. John

    Scheppach Basato 4 Bandsaw

Thanks TomO. Its good to hear of your experience with different size blades and the 1/2" being your preferred choice. John Bullard in his review agrees with your conclusion : http://www.woodworkersinstitute.com/page.asp?p=521 I was told there is a new Basato 4 coming on the market soon, but...

    Scheppach Basato 4 Bandsaw

Thanks to TomO and ProShop for your encouraging replies. Would really like to know when using the one inch blade, if its then necessary to use a planer, to get a decent surface sufficient for use in small scroll saw projects. I dont have enough room for both a bandsaw and a planer. When its then...

    Scheppach Basato 4 Bandsaw

I am considering the above bandsaw for resawing using a 3/4 inch blade, and also using a smaller blade for circular log cuts for bowl blanks. I am concerned that only the more expensive bandsaws are suitable for the the higher tension needed for 3/4 inch blades. This is considered a mid range...

Very Impressive Gilljc. Regarding comments from CHJ, as I have not as yet posted any photos to the forum, would appreciate if CHJ would be more specific so the rest of us can get it right. Is it the fact the focus could be much better !, the photos could have been cropped ! What is image...

    A few new forms

I particularly like the rim angle on the last two, was it cut to this angle off the lathe and finished by hand.

How many members have a Bandsaw for resawing

One of my problems is not being able to obtain good quality wood for scroll saw projects. I think its a universal problem. I end up using mainly plywood. If you put a lot of effort into a project, it will look and be better and be more prized if it is made from solid wood. I was thinking that...
