    A veneer hammer project.

Well that is no barrier. Those offcuts are from a Chinese seller. Do you have scrap yards in Denmark? 10cms of brass strip is all you need. Or what about a short length of 25mm copper pipe. Heated and allowed to cool so as to anneal it. Then flatten by squashing in a vice. There are umpteen...

Brass Sheet Plate Guillotine Offcuts 0.8mm To 4.0mm Guillotine Cut Model Making | eBay is just an example for buying an offcut. Is eBay "readily available" enough?

    A veneer hammer project.

I'd stick to brass so any glue won't. I made one years ago and used 18 gauge brass sheet folded double, with the bend being the hammer edge.

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

Heaven forfend anyone should seek the audacious deployment of simile and metaphor on this forum; it might upset the concrete thinkers.

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

You are absolutely right; my error. And the Domino can be adapted to reference off the sharp point too; there is a YouTuber from France showing how it can be done, somewhere. EDIT: now found the YT Video. Pardon, la vidéo est en français. See 3:40 for the short of time.

That picture is absolutely THE use-case for biscuits or Tensos. Only with the lamello you can reference off the sharp point of the mitre. Then if boards vary in thickness by a fraction of a millimetre then the joggle is inside. With Tenso as the connector you don't have to worry about having...

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

Yes,, and whist you were making furniture, and some useful videos along the way, we could all see your integrity but always slightly mindful you might have been hyping products. For me, and I only speak for me, knowing you have an income from the videos now - Google advertisng fees for a start -...

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

Peanuts are limited function connectors: butt joints only, pretty much. Cheap and cheerful. I used to do very similar with #10 wood screws at a slight tilt, so the countersink head would climb the pocket when driven sideways to edge join boards. That was over half a century ago and it's now...

Domino Jointers Are they really worth it, or just a gimic

Exactly this! The Lamello Tenso fixing is absolutely brilliant and solves so many problems. With sheet goods there is no need for anything else. I have a Domino 500 but it is mainly the Lamello Zeta that gets chosen for the job.

Span between brackets for birch ply shelf

1/5th to the first support from the end, then 3/5ths to the next support, then 1/5th gives the least deflection assuming even loading across the whole shelf. It's engineering!

    Why is it called grain?

A Google search for 'entymology grain' has this to say:- Figuratively, "the smallest possible quantity," from late 14c. From early 15c. in English as the smallest unit of weight (originally the weight of a plump, dry grain of wheat or barley from the middle of the ear). From late 14c as...
