Many thanks, Have been trying to find a decent saw service locally but may have to send it off. Used to be a very good local guy but his business was taken over by one of our local industriall suppliers so not sure what there like now or what they would cost. I generally use it for ripping...
It could also be worn brushes on the motor depending on how much use it had had and if its been sitting damp. If it is then Amazon.co.uk . In the past I have found in motors one brush seems to wear faster than the other. I think its the negative side from memory.
Hope you get it fixed.
I think they are made by einhell. I had an old one but lent it to someone and it never came back. Got a scheppach 216mm the other day. Heres a link to the instructions. https://assets.einhell.com/manuals-pdf/900_301733/pks-1700-a1-%28lb-6%29.pdf I remember something about a head release lever...
Hi there, have a large tct blade 400mm on an old norsaw I use for ripping. Needed some 3x2 timber aprox so decided to rip a 6x2 in half. Thought I'd checked it for nails but hit a bloody screw( the hardened type that had been snapped off near one end) took two teeth off the saw. I have a couple...
I would go a bit larger than you think you will need. I have a couple (not quiet type) but I generally use the larger one. They are 50litre and I think 100litre. The 100 litre 150psi once upto pressure has a larger air reserve so you can use air tools like nailers staplers etc for ages before...
Just had a quick try of the new saw. Not bad at all. All seems good. Nice clean and very precise cuts on skirting board etc. Dust collection is a bit useless but I can cope.
Never had a mitre saw before but reckon I will enjoy using it once I get some practice in. Its a lot easier taking the saw...
Just had a scheppach HM216 sliding mitre saw delivered. I decided to go with the 216 as the 255 was a good bit bigger and more cumbersome. Its not a bad lookinig saw. Seems well made but perhaps a bit light weight but easy to move around.. Came with two blades 24 and 48 they look ok but time...
Ordered a Sceppach HM216 including two blades this morning from Scheppach direct. Was going to go for the HM254 but its a bigger saw and after thinking could do with something more portable and compact. Hope it turns out ok. It wont be getting a lot of use. Also noticed that the ones in aldi etc...
Thanks I remembered I heard a few years ago that certain power tools like dewalt/black and decker) from B&Q etc looked the same but were cheaper on the inside. You only found out when trying to source spares. I assume that most cheap saws are now built or manufactured in china far east. At £140...
Been looking at evolution mitre saws and came across a Scheppacch Hm254 for £140. Just wondering if they are made to different specs depending on where you buy them. ie b&q, aldi etc. Atre they made to a lower spec to keep them cheaper? The one I'm looking at is on Amazon but sold by Hyundai...
Right should have just bought the evolution but been wasting time online found a schepach HM254 255mm. I believe they used to be good but what are they like now. Its only £140 including delivery.
Thanks for the replies. The size is quite big but I think I could do with something larger. The price is good especially at the moment. Its not a saw I will be using a lot. Just for small jobs and as said need something moveable as getting tired of carrying everything to the dewalt cross cut...
Saw that as well but thought I would go with the bigger blade and power as I also have an old steading roof that needs a bit of attention. Rafters are 8x2 and a few need repaired or replaced . Have heard of evolution but never used any.
Hi theren sorry not been on for a while. Business work and family stuff. Hope to get back into it soon. Quick question. Looking for a cheapish mitre saw as need to redo old leanto kitchen before the roof comes in. Basic framing and skirting board etc but also for roof timbers. Just need...
The clock is very old and you would expect some damage and marks etc. As previously said leave it alone as the marks and dirt are the history and in my opinion add to overall beauty and age. Obviously treat rot and woodworm and repair structural items and if it needs cleaned or vineer repair...
