I'm currently making a small, oak cupboard - dovetails etc - it will probably go in a bathroom - the wood is old English oak, well figured and I'm proposing to use Tung oil and then finish with Beeswax - I've had good results with Tung oil on chopping boards so am proposing to follow...
I'm based in the UK and would very much appreciate advice on the most suitable method of achieving a satin or gloss finish to this box - it's made of mahogany (an old Victorian bed frame) and sycamore - I haven't done French polishing before or would a spray lacquer be more suitable? - PS this...
I need to reroof my 16' x 10' workshop - I've scoured the internet and it seems a torchon roofing felt would be best, applied dry rather than with a burner - can anybody kindly recommend the best value product and from what source please. Many thanks
During lockdown I've sought inspiration from numerous websites but find our cousins across the pond have huge workshops, endless equipment and bottomless budgets. I have found Bradshaw Joinery probably one of the best over here - he really comes across well and if only he would do 1 week...
I have recently bought the above and having a devil of a job matching up the male and female cuts on 22mm thick poplar
Has anybody used one and could give me some advice. ie: use the shims not? obviously I have a spacial awareness deficit!
