I am doing some fake wood panelling in my house which will basically be lots of pine beading stuck to the wall, all the walls and beads will be finished with emulsion paint.

I want to get a coat of primer on the beads before I start cutting them but was wondering what to use?

I normally use oil based primer because I don't like to see raised grain but will emulsion stick to it?

There is lots of moulded beading so don't want to be raising the grain and sanding it flat again.

I have used the B.I.N. primers in the past (very thick if I remember) will that do the trick?

Thanks in advance, Doug

I have put emulsion over Zinsser coverstain which is an oil based primer and it sticks perfectly well.
