Hi there.

I had a thought the other day, why not use an old flower press for clamping small glue projects. I remember there used to be one in the family, but it’s long since been lost.

I’ve had a quick look on eBay, not blooming cheap! Has anyone out there got one they want to get rid of?

Has anyone made one?

Thanks.

Yes, Actually .

I think all I needed was a bit of m10 threaded bar at about 1000mm or so, 6 regular nuts and 6 wing nuts and a couple of pieces of plywood which had two battens glued and screwed to the ply for rigidity, holes drilled into the plywood for the thread to pass through. About £5 total probably. It held two pieces of A4 paper side by side.

I think you're basically after a veneer press kind of thing.

Yeah kind of. Sometimes known as a book press, flower press, anything press. The old thing I remember was all cast iron and damned heavy.

Looking at the price of the things I'll definitely be making something.

Thanks for the feedback.)
