I've been meaning to sort this for 15 years but it's always been low on the list (rest of house and garden first).

I've always thought I'd build a nice new door but now I've come to it I'm having a bash at renovating it. Our house is a 1930s semi and I guess this is the original coal cupboard door but I couldn't be sure. The motice lock certainly looks old, think I'll be replacing it but I won't throw it, maybe get a key made one day.

So far I've burnt the top paint off then I guess I'll use a chemical stripper to get the rest off. I'll update as I go, cheers.

Oh, my pics are all around 7-8Mb, the limit is 2Mb, any way around this?

Don't worry about it, we like seeing all work including the beginner stuff! In fact especially the beginner projects as we then get to follow your progression through your projects to bigger and better things.

Also there are many on here who will offer help and advice if you are struggling with something, so share away.

That’s green paint, arsenic green is really nasty stuff. I’d make a new one rather than trying to strip it with all the potential H&S risks.

Thanks Deema, I wore a dust mask and it was outside - I've been doing some research on health and safety in woodworking - I never knew how nasty sawdust is, I'm glad I've educated myself.

Cheers that is much appreciated. I'm new to the forum and new to proper woodworking so I'm going to have loads of questions.
