I recently came across a brass and rosewood 1/2 inch shoulder plane stamped with the letters PJE on the front. The quality of the manufacture of this plane is superb , but the manufactures name is not stamped anywhere into the body. The rosewood body is dovetailed into a thick brass sole. Clamp and screw fitting are made from brass. Does anybody know who might ave made this plane?

Complete uneducated guess but might it be an Hnt Gordon? Might be worth a look on their site.

Thanks, that makes sense from the initials. I took a look at his website, and he doesn't seem to make shoulder planes. Maybe he's discontinued them.
 
There are old threads on here where Philly posted about making shoulder planes like that. Unfortunately the picture links are dead.
I suggest you contact him directly and ask.
