Evening all,

AM in the process of making a folding backgammon board and due to me compounding my errors (router sled slipped) I need to reduce the final thickness of the base.

I think I can probably salvage a thickness of 9mm which will be rebated into a 16mm frame. Surface will be approx 260* 450mm.

Is 9mm going to be ok. Timber is London plane

Thanks

Rob

I would have thought that would be fine.

Disclaimer, I usually use 6mm birch plywood for boxes If I were researching, I would look at what thickness people use for drawer bottoms in solid timber.

Happened to have a wooden batgammon board next to me. Back is no more than 5mm thick.

Fitz.
