How to get rid of emails in outlook.com

I view my emails by logging in to outlook.com and viewing them in my browser. Over the last week I have been unable to delete any emails. Once selected and then I click on delete they dissappear, but when I login again later they are still there. Anyone any Ideas?

Having just set up an Outlook.com email, when I hover the cursor over an email I get a row of symbols, the first one being a dustbin.
Or, right click on the email & select delete, or there is a delete option on the top toolbar.
If those don't work then searching for outlook emails won't delete brings up some reading material.

cheers robbo. I can delete them individually but not collectively. Up until last week I could select a swaithe and get rid of at once but now have to do each on individually pain in the posterior as I can get about a ton a day
