Hello all,

Joined to throw myself on the collective expertise on these forums. I’ve just bought a rusty old lathe, the chap selling it was given it and never used it so no info came with it.

I’ve done a little bit of turning, so want to identify precisely what lathe I have and find the manual to help me with cleaning and restoring it.

I think it’s a Record Power model 2, well that’s what is on the lathe, but I can’t find much in the way of helpful data about this.

Any help and tips gratefully received.

Probably what was later called a CL2. Unfortunately, I can't find the manual on the RP website, even after logging in but there are a number of users on the CL2 and CL3 on this forum; hopefully one of them will come to your rescue.

Aha! I hadn’t realised the CL2 manual could apply to the Model 2 so that’s great news thank you!
