Has anyone come across taps and dies that have three triangles on them. Like this one in the photo.

By the way I am not a metal worker but seem to have collected a few taps and dies right down to BA But many of these I did use while I was a plant mechanic(not the BA)

Ohhh!! Tool Porn, that's downright, blatant, in your face, Salacious generator of envy, ,errrm no I don't know the answer although I seem to remember Scandinavian links to three triangles..

Thank you Rorschach

Chas honest gov I am not a tool hoarder, But have you noticed the quality of the sets which have nice wooden boxes the others have cheap plastic boxes even the red box of the snap-on set

Yes I had noticed  , spent many years with access to all the tools and machine shop facilities I needed, complacency resulting in only being left when I retired with the basic toolkit collection I'd accrued some 30-40 yrs beforehand.
Fortunately some of those hard won (money wise) tools are still going strong after may vehicle rebuilds and DIY repair jobs, like picking up old friends when they get put to use.

Quite agree. it is nice when you pick up a good tool to use it just feels right in the hand the blue box on the left just going out of shot is a very cheap set I needed when I was not close to the others. and the box top right has some pipe threaders and a number of odd taps and dies many good brands these are odd sizes

Got a couple of sets in boxes like that, the box being more durable than the contents so still doing good service with any in-service spaces being filled with better brand replacements.
