I have purchased a viceroy TDS6 bowl turning lathe. There is nothing on the left side of the spindle and I would like to use it. The thread is 1. 1/4" 9tpi with a left hand thread and I have been unable to source a faceplate. Is my only option getting a one made? advice please

I have heard they are hard to source, but do occasionally come up on ebay. I guess instead of getting one made, you could give someone with a metal lathe a faceplate with the wrong thread and ask them to recut the thread, or press in a bushing and cut a new thread in the bushing. A Union graduate faceplate for example is 1 1/2" thread so enough room to bore it out and insert a bushing.
