Up till recently you could have gone to Maplins.

Does RS sell to retail customers now? I used to use them 10 years ago and they were trade only.

Try calling this company, at least they are English

BoB IMO with the internet being what it is today any company that does not sell retail will not last long, but to answer your question RS do now sell retail and have a large internet site to do so.

Well, I am amazed!! I found the switch on the Farnell site Bob recommended, ordered it Teusday afternoon, it arrived 2.00pm wednesday :shock: y!!.
I obviously managed to order the wrong one as there was a choice of two specs on the tech sheet. Phoned them, they agreed to take back wrong one, took order for correct one and it just turned up at 2.10 pm today :shock: .

I don't expect a good service these days, I expect to wait and eventually be disappointed and frustrated by a lack of care and efficiency.
What a refreshing change :D Well done this company =D> =D> =D>

Just need to fit the new switch now and I will hopefully have saved an old tool from the junk yard. (the shredder that is)

Cheers for the links guys.

screwpainting,

this one from Screwfix is the absolute mutts nuts;

My brother and I have used several others, including a bosch blade-based unit - not one compared with this thing. We took down three 20m sycamores and every single piece we could possibly fit through the mouth of the shredder was shredded effectively. We were genuinely blown away by how powerful it was and only with really twisted or frankly oversized pieces did it baulk at all.

Highly recommend it. If you're anywhere near Stourbridge, feel free to bring over some wood to shred so you can see for yourself.
