Right, the new workshop is starting to take shape enough that it's time to begin doing my research and watching ebay etc. I'm after a table saw with the following criteria...

Sliding table - this either needs to allow 1200mm in front of the blade to halve sheets, or have a removal fence)
Minimum 1200mm distance from blade (to halve full sheets). Doesn't have to be to fence, via sliding table is fine.
Single phase
Crown guard
Mitre

I'm budgeting around £2k for this. I'm looking at old iron simply because once they're set up right they're utterly consistent, and I have a soft spot for them.

I will have another go later on. I find this new web site message system woeful (polite version)

Hello
You speak like someone in the trade
Can you clarify what your after ?

Have you got employees or are in a building that renders VFD's unsafe?

What kind of crown guard are you after, boom overarm mounted of riving knife mounted?
sounds like sheet work you want to do only

Have you no time to fix one up, guessing not

Mitre, mitre what?...
mitre slots on the table
Guessing locking mitre fence on the sliding table
Possibly even a tilting arbor by your vague query.

How much power do you need

A slider could be got for that price

Tom
