I am working on making a simple draw knife using an old planer blade. Can't go out and use the grinder for obvious reasons so I decided to make the handles.

Oak is from some branches I was given and turned into dowels, the piece I had was perfectly sized. Ferrules are made from curtain pole offcuts, will be sanded back to bare metal and polished at a later date. I like this shape for handtools, I have made it several times usually using pine curtain pole which works nicely, wanted something a bit prettier for this project though. Few coats of BLO and when it cures I will wax them.

Oh I prefer to leave the centres in the handles, they are drilled so they are neat and accurate and it allows me to re-chuck the handles if required in the future.
