Got this a little while ago from a nice gent on FB, used it yesterday, my my what a revelation! Never used one before in all my many years of wood bashing. Wished I'd had one in the day. but always thought they were a pricey bit of rubbish, or at least thats what my old woodwork boss always said. so after many years I've learnt something new...

Agreed. Not something you need often, but when you do need it, it's just the job.

They really are good. Just don't over tighten the blade holder or the clamp will snap !!! Grrrrrr

forgive the daft question, but what is it used for?

For making a groove a little bit wider.
You need a pair of cutters so you can work the right way of the grain.
Also good if you want to convert a square sided groove or housing into a dovetailed one.

Once you use one you will wounded how you managed without one.

I seem to have a Record a Preston and the Stanley 98 and 99s.
And a couple or three wooded ones.

Pete
