I am putting together a table of timber yards, with information from members who have actually visited the yards. Can you PLEASE HELP with information about Timberman (Bronwydd, Carmarthen) for timber/blanks?

Not been there often, so can only answer the questions below.

Are they hobby friendly? - Yes

Do they sell domestic hardwoods? - Yes

Do they sell softwoods? - Yes

Do they sell turning blanks? - Yes

Are they a one-man-band or a small, medium or large yard? - Small, family owned.

Will they cut to length to fit in your vehicle? - Yes

Do you have any comments? - They also stock quite a good selection of tools and accessories. Their website doesn't contain much more than contact details, unfortunately.

Its been a year or two since I visited but in case there are no newer visitors...

Are they hobby friendly? Yes, I'd say it was a major part of their business.

Mainly a tool shop, sales and repairs. They keep some turning supplies on the shelf. They have a fair choice of turning tools too.
They have a wood store with turning blanks/ some small slabs/ planks etc usually locally sourced oak, ash, yew, beech, etc and some imported stuff but mainly local. Theres a small mill out the back where they plank their local timber etc.

Just to add to the above...
They are an 'old-school' business (hence the lack of a website, but they are on FB) and are very helpful and very friendly. If they don't have the timber you need they will try to order it in for you. Once you build a rapport with them and visit regularly they will often give you a discount. They have a decent stock of turning blanks/supplies and as mentioned they stock a variety domestic/local hardwoods and seem to have a lot drying out the back too.
