I am considering creating a small 'fence' for the shelf in my camper. I am imagining two strips of timber molding (pine is fine) joined by lots of lengths of dowel (3-4"" long). Is there anything commercially available? - I am not sure what to search for.

I have a pillar drill, but getting the exact repetitive spacing may be a trial. Any deviation will look 'wonkit'.

Any ideas?

Work out the spacings, drill two holes to the required separation in a piece of wood (effectively a dowelling jig) and swing it from one hole to the next.
Use a piece of dowel or the drill itself to locate in the most recently drilled hole, and a straightedge laid offset and parallel to the workpiece edge to butt the "dowelling jig" against.
Or form a lip on the "dowelling jig" to register against the workpiece edge.
Sorry, lousy at drawing, so can't illustrate it.

Dolls house balustrade.
Excellent lateral thinking. Initial search only provides 30cm lengths, 2" high. five and a half quid a foot seems reasonable though.
