That's ideal and one of the best things about scroll saws is you don't need loads of room to use them plus another advantage of a mini workshop is the heating costs in winter, the main thing is it needs to be comfy and decent way of getting rid of dust (a cheap fix for removing floating fine dust is something like they have in bathrooms....not a toilet lol a expelair fan fitted in the wall, they are quiet and will save you breathing in the fine stuff)
Another cheap idea is LED outdoor spotlights......I have a few inside my workshop (not the ones with movement sensors) they are 20w white light and are superb for lighting up workbenches etc and all I do is fit a normal 3 pin plug, mine cost less than a tenner and its like daylight even when it pitch black outside.

Cheers
Brian
ps where's ya shop radio?

Good news the radio has just arrived.

There are so many holes in the wall ventilation will never be a problem.

I have a little 80W greenhouse heater under the right hand side work bench to keep the frost out and to be honest not really sure what difference it makes,
I may have to put in an oiled filled radiator type electric heater. For such a small space I have to say it's bloomin cold in there.

I have just converted my circular saw into a bench saw, it tucks away under the table and I clamp it onto the workmate when I want to use it.
Got to say the early stages are looking good with it, saws my wood so fast. I can now buy wood in sheets as I can now cut it in a straight line.

So the mini man cave is almost ready for occupation.

Looks very nice (and clean). A bit of insulation in the roof wouldn't hurt.
happy scrolling
Steve

I would echo what loftyhermese says. We live in a very old "croft style" house in Westray Orkney and when we moved here we thought the bare stone, some rendered, walls and flagstone floors were really old fashioned and nice.

They were, but the house was a pig to heat. Over the years I've strapped and lined the walls and fitted insulation to the floors and ceiling. It has made a massive difference.

Even 25mm of solid thermal insulation board (Xtra therm in my case) makes a huge difference.

Regards

Phill

Very nice - where's the flat screen telly?!!

Give it a couple of years and you'll have plugged every hole in there with leftover bits of plaster and polyfilla from all your odd jobs.
