When it comes to those sorts of issues, pale text on pale background, I highlight everything as if I was going to copy and paste.

Good guide. I can add that from my experience of using Fiddes Hardware oil on a heavily used yew desktop, it has lasted very well for five years, with continuous exposure to hot mugs, coffee and alcohol with no need for coasters. Doesn't look any different now from when it was new.
