Next to the Skin

I'm using up some scraps of interesting wood making pendants for presents. Can anyone please advise me as to the best way to finish these having in mind the high humidity they will live in being next to the skin. Experiments with wax and finishing oil haven't been very successful.

search jewellery finishing, theres a lot out there, including coating it with super glue.

Brush on two coats of cellulose sanding sealer, when hard, wire wool with '0000' and wax.
