The lists of local tool and timber merchants seem to have disappeared. I get a 404 error from the banner menu Local item, and from the quick search by postcode in the rhs panel.

Thanks Andy, moderators are aware of this and a couple of other errors and are awaiting Admin action.

Can’t post in the ‘post a photo of the last thing you made’ thread in general woodworking.

Error message reads:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x80\xF0\x9F...' for column 'post_text' at row 1 [1366]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

Seems to be working for me with text and pics. Could you try again and see if it was a gremlin.

Haven't been able to recheck until today. Appears to be working OK now.

Was on an ipad before (now on laptop) so don't know if that may have had an effect.

I had a post deleted without any explanation. Presumably it relates to rule 8.6? It was a point of general interest regarding the buying and selling of machines on ebay. I linked to a machine that was bought at £1000 and relisted 2 weeks later at £1950 + VAT Neither sales had anything to do with me.... As a moderator myself on other forums, I'm just curious.....

You've answered it yourself..

( 8.6 ) - Auction Site Links.
Members sometimes feel that posting random links to eBay or similar sites may be of benefit to other members looking for a "bargain".
It is not in the interests of our membership to highlight items that some may already have on their watch list. Furthermore we have had instances in the past where members have spuriously drawn attention to their own listings. It is suggested that those wishing to find "bargains" do so themselves.

So, absolutely no links to items on ebay then? Because anyone reading my post would have seen than none of the reasons given in 8.6 apply.

Correct, no links to active auctions or adverts .
