As you've prob guessed from title, this question is about cutting out holes using the router!

I've the Bosch 1/4 inch shank router, cutting out on a hardwood plywood takes 3 rotations. Is this right wrong?

The bit is medium sized and doing about 3000rpm.

But tedious amount of time.

So it would be a lot faster than that, the full speed is probably 25,000rpm or more. My small Bosch is 28,000rpm. If the cutter is as small as it looks you should probably be running it faster. Is the cutter single or double flute? Has it a bottom cut?

You shouldn't need to - they're good for serious excavations as they clear faster, but the main advantage on small work is that they cut a little cleaner. Try using the one you've got at full speed. I assume of course it's sharp. :D
