How do I rip a DVD to my Ipod Touch

Hello Chaps (and Chapettes). :D I haven't been around for a while - I was made redundant back in February, and so consequently have been busy trying to earn a living by whatever means possible whilst trying to find a new job. (Some fat chance!!) I have been doing some consultancy work, which...

    Sky Broadband - any comments?

I currently pay BT £20 a month for Broadband. As I am a Sky customer, I can get their Base package for free. As we are a bit rural, and can only get 0.5 M/s anyway, this seems a good deal! Does anyone here use Sky Broadband? If so - any comments - either good or bad? Thanks. Gary

    Airbrush Advice required

Anyone know anything about airbrushes? I am looking for a cheap (<£50) one. It doesn't need to be anything fancy. I just want to use it for spraying spirit stain and acrylic onto some of my turning and scroll saw work. I have a compressor, but sadly it doesn't have a receiver. All advice...

My first attempts at scrollsawing - Pics

Well, here it folks - at long last I have some pictures of what I have been up to since receiving my Axminster AWSF18 for Christmas. Cut from some crappy old 1/2" pine I had laying about - from my own pattern created using the Word Art Function in Microsoft Word. Finished using a couple of...

    Sticky patterns?

Here's a little tip for you guys having trouble with your patterns either not sticking, or being impossible to remove. I had hours of fun when I started off, as if I only gave the pattern a light spray of adhesive, the it would lift half way through cutting. If I gave it a heavy spray, then it...

    Assistance required with insurance claim

Anyone here an expert in motor insurance? Back in October is was involved in an motor accident that was not my fault. Attention Firefox Users

I just upgraded to version 2 of Firefox, and now, when I type in a post, if I mis-spell anything, it gets underlined in red and I can right click on it to correct it, just like in Word. A very handy improvement if you are as bad a typist as me!!!! Regards Gary

Help required on finishing green wood

A very kind gentleman gave me two very nice logs of freshly felled Yew yesterday, which are just the right size for making a couple of end-grain hollow forms. As Santa is (hopefully) bringing me a Rolly Munro hollowing tool for Christmas, it looks as if I shall be having my first go at end...

How to keep cats from using garden as a toilet?

We have just dug up our front lawn as it is on the north side of the house, and so never gets any sun and consequently the grass always looked manky. We have replaced it with a nice bed of flint pebbles with some shrubs in tubs, and it looks really nice. However - there is one slight...

Anyone else got a Dyson that won't suck?

We have a Dyson DC08,, which is about 3 1/2 years old. For the first 2 1/2 years of it's life it was fantastic - the most powerful vacuum cleaner I have ever seen. Then the suction started to drop off quite drastically. It sounded as if it had a blockage. I took it all apart and checked...

Anyone here got any experience of applying Patina over either an oil or spirit based stain? I have some Beech stools that need to be stained to match a dark Oak kitchen. Given that they are going to be in a kitchen environment, I would like to use Patina to protect them, as I have had very...
