    Flooring suggestions for workshop

I'm not here anymore. But yes, if I have to lay another workshop floor, I'll do exactly the same again, it's excellent. P. S. I see that I am "moderated" now before my responses are published...

    N4400 bandsaw cutting issue

Well I'm delighted to hear it, of course, but that makes me wonder why you are having so much trouble. If you need a walk through, you can always call me. Phone, Skype or WhatsApp, I'll help you if I can. Just make sure you have watched WE4 before you do so! :) As to new material, SIgh. I have a...

    N4400 bandsaw cutting issue

Hmm. I'm not sure to which Bolt you refer, but I can't help thinking that your approach pretty much equates to a driver saying that he's seen the gear lever but can't see himself using it to accomodate different gradients...

    N4400 bandsaw cutting issue

Late to the party, but Hey! I have a DVD, too! :) It's much better than Peter's, oh yes, much better. It must be, my Auntie Mabel says so. :) OK, in a nutshell: Make sure you have the right blade for the job. The width of the blade and the tooth count make a BIG difference. Make sure that the...

    Dust Extraction Filter Cartridge

I upgraded mine a couple of years ago, never looked back. I used a company local to me, DJN. They were excellent. There is a thread on here somewhere about it. Here you go.

    Calling plastic gurus...

I used the cement that I bought for my bandsaw DX job and never used. Seems to have worked a treat. We'll see how it stands up to use. Thank you for all the tips. S

    Calling plastic gurus...

Thank you all. I rang Kenwood, and while the Nice Young Man was as helpful as he could be, he couldn't tell me whether it was clipped or not. He thought not, and there is no evidence of it, either. He could only tell me that a replacement was available. Acrylic, not glass, so I'm pretty sure...

    Calling plastic gurus...

Hi all I have a Kenwood blender attachment for my mixer. Love that mixer itself, rarely use the blender. It's out of warranty. I've just come to use it and the handle part is coming away from the main part of the jug. The jug is acrylic, no idea what the handle is made of. The machine still...

    Domino 700

That's a good idea. When I make mine I chamfer the edges, rather than round them over. That way there is a route for the air, yet it is easy to fit.

    Domino 700

I run off lengths of domino stock and just cut to length as I need. No, it doesn't have the glue-friendly grooving, but it seems to work just as well as the branded pieces. It does help to have a drum sander so that you can dial down the thickness to be just perfect...

    Woodworking magazines

Ah, magazines, them were t'deeys. I wrote for Good Woodworkingfrom the Jan 97 issue until Nick Gibbs left, and thereafter for British Woodworking until Nick's accident. I still write for LegnoLab in Italy. I enjoy the writing, I just wish it were more valued! :) Enjoy your reading, and think of...

    Friday 13th

I can't beat that, but I was due to fly from India back to Heathrow in 1987. I missed my flight on account of there being a gazzilion more booked passengers than there were seats on the plane. Apparently I missed a bit of a breeze...
