    Changing grinder wheels

Hmm, yes. I certainly don't have space for another grinder to be permanently setup. I think I'll sell the 8" wheel, and just get a cheapo 6" grinder from screwfix that I can pull out and setup when needed. I won't be reshaping that often.

Not sure what question you're answering there :P

    Changing grinder wheels

My new slow speed 8" grinder has a 180 grit stone wheel on the one side and a higher grit CBN on the other. However, to get the CBN package, they simply replace the original stone wheel, which they ship as a spare (a bit annoying, I'd rather they just reduce the price). I was just going to...

    Danish Oil Finish

I'm using Hamsphire Sheen and am trying to achieve a Satin finish. However, 3 coats later and it is still very Matt, the result you'd expect from applying something like a Chestnut Products Lemon Oil. I suspect the issue might be that I am wiping too much off? but I am really trying to avoid...

haha yes, can't even buy it if I wanted it

    Dehumidifiers

I primarily use the DD8L to dry laundry as I don't have room for a tumble drier. It's used in a spare room with the door shut and when the heating is on. But when you consider that a drying cycle is around 6-8 hours, it really adds up in terms of running costs. I tend to have it running on the...

    Dehumidifiers

I currently own the Meaco DD8L, which has the following specs: Room Conditions Maximum Water Extraction Wattage 20°C and 60%rh - fan speed 1 3.5 litres per day 330 watts 20°C and 60%rh - fan speed 2 and laundry mode 7.5 litres per day 650 watts However, their newer 12l Arete One model...

Full length cyclone separators Vs short ones?

For a cyclone to work efficiently, it needs to build up a vortex, so I'd guess the second one attached to a cylindrical bin would not work as well, ... and also get gradually worse as the bin fills. The second one is more like thien baffle .

    Thoughts on billing

In regards to people asking about the product .. I generalised the scenario as I can't mention the product without outing the name of the company, which I don't want to do. If I haven't given enough information for people to give a good answer, that's fair enough, but I don't think it really...

    Thoughts on billing

  I feel you're missing the point of the question. ...I am asking what peoples (both trade and customers) would expect in this scenario. I of course will be discussing it with them, but before I do that, I wanted to see what other peoples thoughts were, and if perhaps I am...

    Thoughts on billing

"You pay a plumbing company to fit a product. You don't specify the brand or model of the product, you just let them know that you want them to fit a product that provides the functionality you want, and let them choose an appropriate brand/model to suite based on your plumbing configuration."...

    Thoughts on billing

Sadly not. Rookie mistake I know. It was a case of me phoning them up and asking for said product to be installed, and getting a rough idea of time to fit over the phone. The scenario here though is that they only realised it wouldn't work after they had actually "completed" the job and went to...

    Thoughts on billing

I'd like peoples thoughts on this, both trade and customer. You pay a plumbing company to fit a product. You don't specify the brand or model of the product, you just let them know that you want them to fit a product that provides the functionality you want, and let them choose an appropriate...

    Disappointed with Axminster

I really don't think you can base an opinion of a company on the result of speaking to one person. That person might be new or just not following their customer service guidelines properly. If however their manager (assuming its not the manager you spoke to) says the same thing, .. then yeah ...

    Permanent thread lock

What I have is a metal wheel like below. But there is no keyway. And it's about 200mm diameter. The center hole is threaded to suite the M8 thread on the motor shaft. It simply screws on. Initially this was not a problem, as the motor always rotated in a direction that caused the thread to...

    Permanent thread lock

I suggest JB Weld, which I believe would be very similar to Araldite. CA glue was much stronger.
