Garden cabin with oak subfloor perimeter on concrete pilings

    5m x 5m = 25m2 it is c. 16.5ft x 16.5ft or 272.25 ft2 reasonably large - my workshop is an old garage at 3m x 5m so this is about a 1.5 / 2 car garage size

RP Sabre 250; anyone have one

I have it - I do occasionally move it from the workbench to sit on a B&D Workmate outside if doing lots of work with it. Used it recently to go through wood from a felled tree and as long as it fitted within the capacity of the throat it handled the wood... I use it with Tuffsaw blades, but for...

    Business to business dealings

It would be easier as a private person, but if purchased as described then it is a B2B sale which does have different rights: https://www.devonsomersettradingstandards.gov.uk/business/consumer-rights/business-to-business-contracts/ you can't change a sale to B2C to take advantage of better...

    Business to business dealings

makes sense - but you are defined as a business by whether you make transactions with a business purpose in mind... you mention you purchased from a work account - so presumably that is an account through which you put transactions that are carried out with the aim of making money / running a...

What is the safest way to plank a small log?

I would have thought that a chainsaw would be too rough and too big a kerf - you will find it hard to do precision cutting of that nature with it... A table saw sounds risky A band saw would be my instinctive thought - can you find someone with a bigger capacity bandsaw? 15cm is not huge for a...

Withdrawn Fox F22 568 Planer Thicknesser

I think it is a requirement on here to provide photos... You might also want to give a rough but better location than your location of London as different parts of London make quite a difference as to whether someone feels that you are close enough to collect from...

    Business to business dealings

yes any transaction made with the intent of being a business deal makes you a business, there is no UK legal requirement to first declare yourself as a business… eg a tool bought for personal use, not used, but then sold = not business the same tool bought by the same person but with the goal...

Where to buy 8 x 3 inch wood 5.4 meters in length

I use Robbins in Bristol - not sure if they have exactly what you want - but they are very helpful so it is worth asking them... https://www.robbins.co.uk/ I though tend to collect as I can get that length on my roofrack with ease... I can see that delivery would be more challenging...

    Something new

Some random thoughts: handmade crafts struggle to sell for a price appropriate to the time taken - this is partly because people compare the cost against products made abroad where the hourly rate is so much lower. the consumer finds it difficult to understand value / quality / etc. in a...

What might this be? ... I do know, but do you?

I know what it is - though I suspect it might now be illegal to use, and I prefer to listen to Vaughan Williams anyway ;)

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Seems a logical way to do it - but would you not end up with a gap the width of the blade / kerf? the top piece would need to be cut one side of the dividing line / the bottom piece the other side of that line - so you couldn't cut both together...

Very beautiful - not entirely sure whether it is Padauk but certainly very similar… this is a Padauk bowl - no sap wood and finer stripes…

    Labelling system

I use one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09SB3C6YL/ they do have a slight disadvantage of not sticking on some surfaces, but seem fine on most... bluetooth from mobile to send it files... otherwise, blue decorator tape and a sharpie!

How essential is a wood thickness planer?

A planer (called a jointer in the US) is used to flatten a side as a reference side (you might do top and one side for example) it will take out all bumps to give a flat surface - this is because the blades spin in the table - ie the table gives you your flat reference point and the blade trims...
