    Record Power Bandsaw fence moving

I have the same bandsaw as you I am very pleased with it. I must say I have not experienced the issue you describe, my only issue has been that when raising or lowering the blade guard the guides sometimes need readjustment. Its not a big issue, just one of those things.

why is hobby woodworking in decline?

A very intersting thread, for my 2 pence worth I was born in the late 60's we did have a few lessons in woodwork, metalwork, sewing and even cooking at the secondary modern schools I went to. There was never enough to actually learn how to do anything but at least there was an attempt at raising...

    Camvac worth the money?

I Certainly was not totally set on the brand , I looked at the Yorkleen but their prices were a fair bit more than the Camvac. This proved theoretical in the end as I have decided to go the HVLP route and ordered a SIP 2HP model with a cartridge filter to get the filtration down to 1um. Thankyou...

    Camvac worth the money?

Thank you for your input, Whilst your approach is appealing I finally decided to go for a HVLP SIP 2hp extractor with a fine filter cartridge instead. More money than I was initially thinking but still a long way short of the 3 motor Camvacs. I just felt that the bang for buck was greater going...

    Camvac worth the money?

This is my worry that they are quite expensive and may not offer much benefit. Sound is a consideration too I was thinking of boxing in a camvac and venting thru a sound box as I have seen posted elsewhere on here The reach is also a big consideration the canvas appear to have only 100mm 4"...

    Camvac worth the money?

That's what I was thinking my current vacuum has the same power as a single cam vacuum. Although I do like the cleanable cloth filters

    Camvac worth the money?

That sounds very interesting I have a cyclone at the minute but was assuming that it was stealing some of the current vacuums efficiency. But I was thinking or hoping it was saving the paper bags and the pleated air filter. If you don't mind what are you using yours for turning or general woodwork?

    Camvac worth the money?

I use a Record Bandsaw and Lathe, together with a bobbin sander, I currently have a Scheppach HA1000 50L drum type vacuum together with the record AC400 Filter. However is there is always a fine dust all over the workshop, I use a trend face mask, but the general dust is annoying. When I use...

    Little b45t4rd5 on e-scooters...

I have some sympathy for the demoralised cops what are they supposed to do? If the little g1ts fail to stop as we know they will the cops are not allowed to chase if they do and the poor darlings get hurt its the cops that get hauled before a discipline board and or court. They are completely...

    Collapsed dust extraction container

I've only got a small canister type vaccum similar to all the other generic models around the £100 mark. I fitted a cheap cyclone from the bay to a small 30 L steel drum purchased from a UK manufacturer based in Hull. No prv and its never collapsed even when the hose is blocked for a moment...

    Record Power air filters

I've recently purchased one of these and I have to say its very good at removing the fine dust that settles everywhere (despite DX) like many of the above I turn it on for a couple of hours when I finish. Unfortunately I have a very low ceiling and cannot fit it to the ceiling so I have ended up...

    Snow leopard carving

It never ceases to amaze me how talented some people are, especially when it comes to carving or drawing animals where even the smallest deviation from reality really spoils the illusion.

I have an Axminster AC2606 Bandsaw Table to give away (a long story) together with a couple of blades and a front rail (where the fence attaches (obviously used but free to a good home) collection from Milton Keynes. Its in good shape without any rust etc wrapped up in a cardboard box but...

    What 14” bandsaw to buy?

I have no knowledge of taking or buying equipment abroad, however having purchased a bandsaw from Axminster I can only say I had nothing but constant issues with it. Now I might have been unlucky and simply got a Friday afternoon machine (Does China do Friday afternoons??) I have to say...

Sorry in advance- a dust extraction question

To start I would like to state I am a novice when it comes to dust extraction but realise its too important to cock up. I have scoured the forums here and looked at too many websites from sellers and find my self going round in circles. I have read all of Mr Pentz website and throughly scared...

First Work Bench and last item made

I'm not sure how to answer really, this bandsaw box is very VERY simple, the drawers sit in the box bottom and simply pull out. there is a tiny upturn in the box bottom before the "crack" which stops the drawers falling into each other, but to be honest its as simple as can be once you know the...

First Work Bench and last item made

yep a vice is next on the list of to do items, but I think I will need to re think part of the bench as I followed a set of internet plans that did not include a vice. Although once I find a vice I may be able to fit it without too much butchery. I am very lucky with the workshop its a...
