    EX 30 new scroll saw

So after months of emailing, Axminster sent me a new saw that is developing the same type vibration as the first one. Top arm is shaking like crazy. Weird is that it started all of a sudden. Like bang, and it has been increasingly getting worse. I´d NEVER ever buy an Axminster scroll saw again.

Why do scroll saws break.... REPEATEDLY?

Great! I was just about to recommend Hegner. I have had one borrowed while I had my Axminster in for a repair and I can tell that saw is built like a tank!

Why do scroll saws break.... REPEATEDLY?

Because all those scroll saws are JUNK. Even Axminster, which I had big hopes for but after 2 years it´s nothing but disaster!

    Not at all.

    EX 30 new scroll saw

Enough to make it difficult to cut. As I feed a piece into the blade, it makes the piece vibrate as well.

    EX 30 new scroll saw

I have sent my EX21 in for a warranty repair due to the top arm vibrating. Got it back and this is what a fixed saw means to Axminster specialists: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11F6cge1nBJIWa7rLgx4QsOkivlXzCDfQ/view?usp=sharing

    EX 30 new scroll saw

I´m glad to see this thread. My story short(er). My Ali EX21 broke after 2 years. It kept blowing fuses in the saw and in my house repeatedly. I sent it for a repair and got a new motor and PCB. It ran well for about a month but all of a sudden a fuse blew again. Instantly after I pressed the...

The Axminster AC216TS thread - impressions and tips etc.

I have two runners and it drags even if I place the sled the other way around. It slides perfectly in the middle but it´s tight on the edges. Right after I cut the runners I tested the width by sliding both ends into slots to see if they are loose or tight. They were perfect in the middle but...

The Axminster AC216TS thread - impressions and tips etc.

I made a croosscut sled for my AC216TS with plywood runners and they are harder to slide on the front and the back of the miter slots as if they were different width. Has anyone experienced this?

    EX 30 new scroll saw

I have my EX21 in for a second warranty repair with numerous issues and honestly, I´d never buy this saw again and would tell everyone considering it to stay away from axminster scroll saws. A friend of mine also has vibration issues with his EX30.

    new ex30 scroll saw

Axminster is going to pick up my saw so I´m hoping it´ll end up the same way as with yours :)

    new ex30 scroll saw

I did that and did not find anything wrong. When I applied more force, the top arm was flexing sideways a bit, which I find normal. I´ll try to catch that vibration on a video.

    new ex30 scroll saw

@aramco Did you have troubles with the whole saw vibrating, or only a part of it? The top arm of my EX21 started vibrating on max speed so much it´s literally moving side to side.

    Black spots on plywood projects

I don´t know why but after some time, maybe a week or two, my projects start having some black spots. I have no clue where that comes from. I have been making toys from hardwoods and never had this problem. I thoughit may have something to do with too much sanding so the second (dark) layer...

I got my saw back in my garage with new motor and pcb. Works like a charm now.

The Axminster AC216TS thread - impressions and tips etc.

Not really. It would take too much space off my garage so I´m going to build a cross cut jig instead.
