    Router Table Specs

I would concur what Roy has tried to advise you about. So many go down a machine route to then upgrade it at a later date. It's sometimes not clear but in the end its cost effective. Take a look at the Trend PRT router table. Very good working and support working surface. If you have a Trend...

Kitty Bandsaw 513, 613 and 612 shedding blade

Well Jonm, you have had lots of advice and I'm not sure how far you have got. I've been helping people with Kity (and other makes) bandsaw problems for a very long time. I have a 613 which I have owned for over 25yrs - they are great machines. I use it for smaller work now as I have a large...

Kity 638 Planer Thicknesser Belt Being Shred Coming Off

Obviously there is is something wrong. Lets go backwards. Was it working fine at one point? Have you done or did anything happen leading up to when the problem started? For example did you change anything like a belt or a setting? What's the width (mm) of the outer belt? I'll try and help by...

Kity 638 Planer Thicknesser Belt Being Shred Coming Off

I have the same machine. In addition to the good advice from Alasdair, I notice that the flat belt seems to be extremely close to the poly V belt - the flat belt is off center yet it is very close to the V belt and it shouldn't be - with the belts in their central position you should have 8mm...

    Shooting board has me stumped.

Like others have said and before you go any further - ensure your square and set up is 100% square - simply find a flat reference, like a piece of wood properly squared and clamp it to a board or bench edge with a level surface. Stick a piece of A4 paper on the level surface that abutts the...

    What higher-end bandsaw?

In addition to other advice take a look at the Startrite models like the 502e (grey ones) the Axminster professional range (blue). These are great but you will only get them secondhand but well worth the waiting.

    Drum sander conveyor belts

Hi To all drum sander owners. My question refers to the Drum Sanders Conveyor belt only. Has anyone purchased and used a BND abrasive belt for their machine. I have never bought one from them and would like to know if the belts quality and performance is good or bad and as they use a p100...

    Thicknesser or Planer Thicknesser

The ideal is to have separate machines. It makes life far much easier and its far more work efficient. No faff with moving tables and fences. However, the cost could be more and you need a larger working footprint. With out doubt, cast iron table tops and heavy/medium machines are tops. If you...

edge sanders (like the Hammer HS950) - what use is pivoting the belt back 90 degrees to flat with the platen?

Sanding the main flat side of stock when you have edge bevels or shapes you don't want to disturb, corner shaping, shaping and flatening , absolute loads of techniques that you can do when working wood. As been said, letting the stocks weight assist sanding is often safer as your hands are...

    Spiral Upcut Router Bits

Another option is Trend. They have 1/4 or 1/2 inch or 8mm shaft spiral up or down cutters. Request a catalogue from a stockists like Miles Tool & Machinery - very helpful staff.

Aldi Bandsaw ( new model) coming soon. Buy it or choose other model

Put simply; save up and buy a quality saw. There are excellent secondhand ones that come on the market. Yes they may need a little bit of work but they will probably out-live you plus it will hold its value should you need to sell it or upgrade. You will not regret it.
