    I bought one used for £6.50 last year now obviously for that price its missing some parts so if anyone has one of these machines i'd like to see some pictures and measurements of the rise and fall underneath and the bearing flange on both the top and bottom of the spindle thanks in advance

    plus ripping so much in one pass could warp the blade and 16 inch blades are VERY expensive i got lucky and picked a freud up for 30 plus shipping (old stock) but most of them are £100 up for a decent one

    and no its not a thin kerf its quite a heavy blade kerf probs 4 mm at a guess i'll measure it now

    dzj it makes 4.25 inch cut give or take so it could do 8.5 rip i wouldn't do the the full 4 in one pass mainly because of how hard i would have to push against the workpiece and the blade would be very exposed it only takes one slip.... i'd rather let the saw do the work in a few passes im not...

    used it again for a larger job and it din't get warm til i turned it on and off a few times so it must draw more to get it going and warms up seems like its just a normal feature panic over and just to settle the debate it handles rip cuts using the 16" blade no preoblem no bogging down or...

    maybe but if that was the case the arbour would get hot quick regardless of blade size i only noticed when i changed the blade and had a hold of the arbour on some jobs i change the blade a lot from dado to large blade to small blade etc

    there isnt a plate to change it from star to delta the only place i can see for wiring is the button and a plate to the cap but neither of those are for altering the winding configuration

    there is no play in the shaft and like it says on the label its designed for 400mm blades i want to use them for thick rips resaws and such

    upon further inspection i can't see any way of altering the wiring like that on a 3 phase machine so i don't think that it is dual voltage

    turns out 240v isn't on the motor neither is any voltage so it is possible is there any way of finding out?

    arent all induction motors capable of running on 3 phase? anyway it says 240v on motor so i don't think thats it i'll have a look now cuz its bugging me haha

    i can't see a company a german one at that manufacturing a saw underpowered for the blade that it is designed to use especially one from back in the day machines used to be built like tanks back then haha

    its what is on the label 400mm max its an induction motor with a capacitor single phase i'll have a look at label another day its buried in the shed haha

    ok i will get an amp meter and check it out does anybody have a 400mm induction motor table saw so i could compare motor temp/running amp thanks
