I've just had a BS400 delivered by Record and the courier unloaded it straight into my garage without question.

Does the veneer really need to be glued if it's sandwiched between the steel and the glass? You could use double sided tape or spray mount just to keep it from slipping.

I made the same mistake and sanded it all off. I then clear waxed it and within a couple of years it naturally turned a nice even antique colour.
