What Polyurethane for steering wheel veneer, please?

Hi all, so I saved some coins and bought a nice steering wheel for my old P38 Range Rover, but it's cracked, and I would like to repair it before fitting. I have read guides online saying to use Polyurethane Clear Gloss, however those are American guides and I'm confused as to an equivalent I...

    Mig or Tig?

Arc is the more superior welding type! I'm totally biased I love arc welding, and its cheap to start, cheap to maintain, requires only one box, no gasses, and you can do it in the rain because of no gasses. Also the weld happens under the surface rather than on top of the surface, which is...

    Speaker

Magic , thanks for all the replies, appreciated. Yah I was wandering around thinking to myself, well a stienway isnt mdf , a speaker is an instrument also.... But ye are saying its not. I have observed that this box doesnt like unrefined ectronic music, house and techno made in a bedroom...

Ah, okay, thats that then. I was hoping for a good reason to learn some actual woodworking skills, but that information saves me from making another, grand!

Greetings all ) So I'm not a woodworker, I work mainly with metal. I made this box, you can see its assembly is amatuerish, but the concept is pretty I think. I transplanted the chrome from this Helix 4636 and really just copied the box It has high quality speakers, Visaton B200...

track saw with the deepest cut depth

@finish_that - - superb! excellent, really cool. will look at those. I'm a hobbyist, so unlikely I will ever need replacement bits for them, besides a pair of brushes in 5 or 10 years.

track saw with the deepest cut depth

Cheers guys. I had a look at the Elu MH286, looks interesting, though its on the large side also. Same goes for the scheppach PL 75, interesting but very large. I dont need the plunge action - are there any other circular saws that will sit on a festool rail? Saw this on a local auction site...

track saw with the deepest cut depth

Hiya Mike, I dont really mind about the price, becuse I have found that I use the track saw all the time. I sold my circular saw becuse I wasnt using it, so just concentrating on getting a suitable track saw seems like a good idea, regardless of price. It seems 'suitable' for me, is one with...

track saw with the deepest cut depth

These are the specs for the Makita SP6000, which are prettymuch the same as the specs on the parkside saw, same depth at 90 and at 45 degrees. It has the same blade as the Parkside PTSS 1200 A1 - 165mm with a 20mm bore. Presumably all the saws with a 165mm blade are going to have the same...

track saw with the deepest cut depth

Hi all ) so I had a festool TS75, the big one, but I got rid of it becuse it was too big, and bought the small lidl tracksaw. I kept the festool track to use witrh the lidl saw. The blade on it wont rip-cut, so I bought this blade for it yesterday It got me thinking, of the smaller...

structural wood for a truck box body

Cheers Naz, Beau. Gonna level with you guys I dont know a lot about wood, I've made some things but I'm a total novice really, I make things constantly but usually in steel. Going to go have a look at where I can get ash now, that's excellent. I can join two pieces no problem, can I ask please...

structural wood for a truck box body

Hi all. So I'm building a camper box for my 4x4 truck. I bought an ex-asda fridge box. Its too big, so I'm going to cut it apart and use the panels to make a smaller box. This box is joined at the edges using extruded aluminium. This is fine for a fridge unit but I'm making a camper and I want...

garden bench for the summer months

plasma cutter. I bought a hypertherm powermax 45 six months ago. Its a good toy, I do recommend them. Its kinda taking over though, between upgrading air supply's and improving the table I use to cut. I'm considering building a CNC table, that should only take the bones of 6 months and swallow...

garden bench for the summer months

I work for a software company. I make stuff in the evenings to keep me happy, its a good release. I'm making a fire to compliment the bench. Story goes that, we had a session a few weeks ago, and when I woke in the morning one of my buddies had lit a fire in this circular piece of metal i had...

garden bench for the summer months

yah its funny, i could easily have bought one for the time and money ive spent. As it turnes out I dont even need the belt sander for this really, because the 'rough' wood i bought is silky smooth, its only the ends that need sanding. Cant really have enough tools / toys though can you )
