Old Shipwreck found on beach Orkney

That pic reminds me of a viking longship reproduction they've been building, though the vid i saw was a good few years back so its probably been finished by now. Quick YT search has the vid, and it sailing. I'd love to have worked on something like this. a great big f*** off build.

    Axe Handle Fitting

If you look at the hole of an axe head- (a proper made one) the hole isnt straight sided but is infact hour glass shaped. This gives a mechanical locking effect when the wedge is driven home.

Well thats that stuffed then  TBH that type of thing would bug the utter hell out of me and I'd probably go to extreme lengths to try to find out what the lettering is and what it refers to. I got a pocket knife a bit back, swopped it for some old tools at an 'antiques' center. It had...

Very nice. I like the floating system, hadnt considered that myself. Been looking for something to sit under my tv, but always thought that floor standing cabinets were a bit intrusive. Something floaty might be just the thing.

Good description of how a handplane works.

Yeah. It's an hour and a quarter long, which you first think bums, thats long. But 3/4 way along you think, shame this isnt longer  Its very interesting and very informative. 4.34k subscribers. where on yt/tiktok etc some channels have 10's of millions of subscribers and in comparison...

Very nice, and good to see a tool put back in order when before most people would have binned it. Any ID on it ? Can't quite make out fully whats there, is it a company name ? Now all you need to make is a holder for it.

Cant be that keen, i was totally wrong. Though this is the one, and they are similar in the frame Years before I owned a pillar drill, i used to make and sell brass pipes(the smoking type) And the only thing I had in the tiny workshop was a few hand drills, the Goodell being the main one I...

Safely cutting lap joins on table saw

A router is a far safer way to cut lap joins. and if the router has micro adjust, all the better I'd saw down first with a handsaw(Much like when hand cutting tenons) to reduce the amount of waste the router take off and that will make it quicker. Plus the small squares you get after are very...

Dashboard Hinge / Guid Rail Bracket

I think you made an excellent choice with the dashboard version. Expensive yeah, though its the shipping and subsequent taxation drives that price up, but overall I think I'd prefer that one to either the festool or benchdog versions. The festool one looks to be a bit of a joke tbh. Cheaply...
